"Through the My BUT application, students will get a practical tool for managing their studies. Now they can easily connect to online teaching in the schedule, after returning to schools they will appreciate the possibility of navigation in the BUT campuses, not only in the individual buildings of the faculties, but also in terms of dormitories, canteens and sports grounds. In the future, we want to develop navigation in buildings and in individual classrooms," Jaroslav List from the BUT Center of Information Services said.
Students of the Brno University of Technology will also find here, for example, the opening hours of individual canteens, an overview of the daily menu and they also have the option of topping up credit to the canteen account from which lunch is paid via a credit card. The application has already been tested by the first thousand users who have provided CVIS with valuable feedback so that they can constantly improve My BUT.
"In the application, students can clearly see their marks and evaluations, including partial evaluations, such as the number of points from the test. As soon as the teacher enters the results of the exam or credit into the system, the students will receive a notification. There is also a click into the study system so that students can sign up for exam dates," List described the benefits of the app. Students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Faculty of Information Technology, who use their own information systems, have a slight disadvantage. These will not get to their schedule in the application now. However, other tools of the application can also be used by FIT and FCE students as other users.
Newcomers to the Brno University of Technology will certainly appreciate the link to the Freshman's Handbook, which will help them in their early studies at BUT. New application My BUT is available both in Google Play for Android and in the App Store for iOS. "In the future, we plan to integrate exam registration directly into the application. In the study system, we are also preparing a page where users will have an overview of the registered devices and in case of phone theft, so that they can remotely block the application. At the moment when FIT and FCE connect to the central information system, we want to offer all services to the students of these faculties as well,“ Jaroslav List offered a view into the future.
The team of five developers has been working intensively on the creation of My BUT for the last few months under the banner of CVIS. These are exclusively BUT students and graduates, who have thus brought their own study experience into the application. You can find more information at www.mojevut.cz.
