A word from the Dean of the Faculty on the beginning of the new year 2024

Dear colleagues and students,

at the beginning of the new year let me thank you heartily for all you have been doing for the development and general benefit of the faculty. I am fully convinced of your hard work as last year the FEEC BUT was very successful again. As examples, I can name the Ampér 2023 Trade and an honourable mention to the Cyber Arena BUTCA, the Ministry of the Interior Award to the best project in security research, a very successful cooperation with the Technical Museum in Brno at the exhibition called „Tesla is not the same as Tesla“, or a record secondary school student participation at the Merkur perFEECt Challenge competition.

Our students reached excellent goals as well. They were awarded with recognitions and prizes, for instance Prof. Jaroslav Buchar´s Prize, and Prof. Daniel Mayer´s Prize for Best Electrical Engineering Students. Students also excelled in various competitions, e.g. 8 from the BUT or Prize for Entrepreneurial Spirit of the BUT Student. Our students and academics have been highly recognized by prestigious prizes, which proves a high level of professional knowledge in our academic programmes. As a result, the FEEC BUT ranks to the best educational and research institutions at both national and international levels. Many thanks to all of you.

At the end of the last year we were all deeply shaken by the dreadful tragedy at the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University. During Christmas we felt truly concerned with families and friends of the victims of the heinous gunman. Nevertheless, however horrid and mad such events are, it is necessary to come back to normal lives, try to work as best as one can and appreciate one another. I would like to assure you that the faculty management will try to promote a safe and pleasant work environment where employees and students can feel secure and will be encouraged to work independently and creatively.

Dear colleagues and students, let us encourage one another, let us share ideas and create an environment full of innovations, respect and mutual understanding.

I wish good health, love and happiness to all of you in the upcoming year.
