On Tuesday, 8 October, you can look forward to an Day full of Energy with the Faculty's strategic partner E.ON.
Between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. you can visit various stations in the area in front of the T12 building and discuss with experts from E.ON and EG.D. the connectivity of PV, fibre optic networks, SF6 free technologies, smartmeters, network diagnostics or even cyber security. Refreshments and coffee are also waiting for you in the large tent. The Fruit bike, or mix your own drink with a pedal bike, will also be unmissable.
Just down the road, in front of the T14 building, the Show Truck Robe aka Robe on the Road is ready for you at the same time. The truck is coming from Holland, with a demonstration of the latest innovations in moving lights. Robe will also shine a light on the foosball table he's bringing along.
On the morning of Wednesday 9 October, have Cake for Hospice - you'll find a small stall selling great cakes outside one of the FEEC buildings. Proceeds will go to support the Diecézní Charita Brno and their care for the terminally ill. In short, there is good in every bite.
On October 9, President Petr Pavel will visit our faculty as part of his business trip to Brno. The President will meet with student teams and registered students. The event is fully coordinated by the Rector's Office of the BUT.
Thursday, October 10, will be dedicated to Open Science Day, when each of our scientists or researchers has 4 minutes to present their project. This is a format inspired by Science Journeys at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and also TED short talks. Stop by in between talks or work obligations, choose topics of interest from the program, register, and most importantly, come. It's going to be a brisk ride!
Faculty representatives will meet with high school and middle school principals on Thursday afternoon, October 10. This is a private event for which the ground floor at Prof. Brauner Auditorium will be reserved. We hope that this will not complicate anyone's stay at the faculty too much. The meeting with secondary school principals is part of a long-term plan aimed at deeper cooperation with secondary schools. Our faculty partner ŠKODA AUTO a.s. has prepared practice rides with electric cars for the principals.
Parallel to the events at the faculty, the International Industrial Fair is taking place from Tuesday 8 to Friday 11 October at the Brno Exhibition Centre, where our faculty is also involved. The Department of Control and Instrumentation, together with the coordinator of the exhibition Jakub Arm, has prepared a robotic cell "sorting of components", an autonomous cell Testbed 4.0, radar counting of people, virtual models (the possibilities of virtual model technology applied in the field of industrial production) and will not miss the robot Orpheus, which was constructed at the department for the needs of the army and rescue workers.
FEEC will also be part of the Czech National Exposition at International Industrial Fair, where Pavel Mašek from the Department of Telecommunications will present 5G Networks in Industry and Smart Cities and Private 5G Networks in Industry.
We would also like to invite you to the Kachnička student club at the Faculty of Information Technology on 8 October and 18:00, where the YSpace student team will be waiting for you with their "2024 Lift-off Meeting". There you can also go straight to schedule the next four meetings that YSpace has planned for the rest of the year.
For more detailed information on each event, check out the Event Calendar: https://www.fekt.vut.cz/en/faculty/event_calendar.
We don't think you'll be bored this week.
We look forward to seeing you there!
