Start Your Future at BUT: Applications Are Now Open
As of November 1, applications are officially open for all study programs at Brno University of Technology (BUT) for the 2025/2026 academic year. You can choose from more than 170 study options in technical, economic, scientific, and artistic fields. BUT achieves top results not only in traditional technical disciplines but also in modern technologies such as semiconductor technology and chips, microscopy, space and aerospace technology, electromobility, nuclear energy, nanomaterials, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, environmental engineering, and more. With the presence of fine arts, architecture, and design fields, the university also offers a unique fusion of technical and artistic worlds and fosters creativity in technical research and education. Looking for something new and interesting? We have a few updates for you, including a brand-new environmental program at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, responding to current challenges in sustainability and environmental protection. BUT is among the leaders in semiconductor technology. The demand for chips continues to grow, and quality education is crucial in this field. Therefore, the university has launched a new study program, Chip Design and Modern Semiconductor Technologies, at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication.
What does BUT offer?
BUT offers a wide range of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs. For those who prefer to study in English, we offer 22 programs taught in this language. Whether you are interested in modern technologies, energy sustainability, or cybersecurity, BUT has a field that will interest you and prepare you for your future career.
The latest programs include:
- Bachelor’s program in Environmental Engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering (FAST) – prepare for a career that will change the world.
- BUT drives the automotive industry and electromobility. At the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication (FEKT), you can now study the program E-mobility and Sustainability or Chip Design and Modern Semiconductor Technologies, which focuses on training engineers for the semiconductor industry.

- Faculty of Architecture (FA) and the program Architecture of Civil Engineering at FAST: Applications by January 3, 2025.

As a BUT student, you can optionally take up to two hours of free sports per week. The university also has one of the largest university sports facilities in the Czech Republic. The study program Sports Technology (CESA) combines sports with studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication.
The Brno University of Technology also operates the Alfons Counseling Center, which provides advice and support services to applicants and students with special needs. The center helps applicants with special needs, among other things, with admissions adjustments or offers various consultations.

The university has the largest accommodation capacity in Brno with 6,019 beds and 17 dining facilities, including a modern pizzeria and café-bar. All accommodation and dining options can be found on the dormitory and dining website.
