After noon, the seminar "How to navigate in the MDR jungle" started, organized by Department of Biomedical Engineering (Radim Kolář and Andrea Němcová) in cooperation with the LIFE SCIENCES 4.0 platform and the Brno Regional Chamber of Commerce. The event offered students, employees and practitioners a unique perspective on the European MDR (Medical Device Regulation), which is crucial for all those who want to succeed in the medical device market.
Miroslav Rosulek from the Czech Metrology Institute outlined the basic requirements of the MDR and offered valuable insight into the key aspects needed to operate successfully in the medical device market.
Daniel Kvak, CEO of startup Carebot, shared his success story. Carebot received certification for its innovative AI-enabled X-ray image analysis product. The audience found it particularly useful to share practical experiences from the certification process and to analyze the challenges and successes that accompanied the project.
The whole program culminated in a networking session, which took place in an informal atmosphere and provided a space for discussion between the participants and speakers.

Alongside the educational programmes, there was also room for the first annual "Donate Blood - Donate Life!" organized in cooperation with the Transfusion and Tissue Department of the Brno University Hospital. During the morning, when the event took place, about fifty people interested in donation stopped by. Finally, 25 of them were able to collect blood. The staff of the Brno University Hospital evaluated the result positively and we immediately agreed to repeat the donation event next year. As soon as we agree on a date, we will share the information on the faculty's website and our social networks. Thank you to all the students, BUT staff, and donors from companies in our area for thinking of others and coming out to support this event!
