Despite the electronic fire alarm system being switched off and undergoing a regular check today (it is checked every six months), all persons in the T10 and T8 buildings were able to be evacuated safely and without problems before the arrival of the emergency services. No one was injured, only material damage amounting to millions of crowns occurred.
It was possible to return to buildings T10 and T8 after only two hours after the fire broke out. The power supply was restored after 1 pm. I would like to thank all components of the integrated rescue system for their professional intervention, thanks to which the damage to property was minimised. I also thank all staff, students and persons who were in the building at the time for obeying the instructions of the persons reporting the fire. The regular fire drills certainly contributed to the smooth running of the evacuation.

Around 10:30 am today, a fire broke out in the Electrode Materials Laboratory in the T10 building. It was a localised outbreak caused by a short circuit in one of the batteries, with the flame subsequently spreading to other batteries and instruments in the laboratory.Despite the electronic fire alarm system being switched off and undergoing a regular check today (it is checked every six months), all persons in the T10 and T8 buildings were able to be evacuated safely and without problems before the arrival of the emergency services. No one was injured, only material damage amounting to millions of crowns occurred.
