The so-called cyber arena has been developed by FEEC researchers since 2019. Initially, it was a response to the requirements of teaching at the home faculty. Gradually, however, they discovered that there are many problems with teaching cyber security in the Czech Republic and decided to look for solutions. The result is the BUTCA platform - Cyber Arena, which combines training and education through game situations, ease of use and connections to real industrial facilities. In one year of operation, several thousand students have passed through it.Students of the Matyáš Lerch Gymnasium testing the Cybernetic Arena | Author: Nikola Číková
"We simply wanted to make it easier for lecturers to prepare cybersecurity lessons. In our platform, anyone can run a whole scenario for all selected students in one click," explains Zdeněk Martinásek, one of the authors of the platform.
"The project ideally combines excellent didactic skills and top creative work of my colleagues from the Institute of Telecommunications. The award from the Ministry of the Interior is a well-deserved recognition for the excellent work and innovative approach in the field of cyber security. I congratulate the whole team for their efforts and contribution to the protection against cyber threats," said the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Vladimir Aubrecht, on the award.Students of the University of Defence also tested the cyber arena | Author: Nikola Číková
The Minister of the Interior's Award has been regularly presented since 2011 and its main objective is to reward the creators of outstanding results in the field of security research, to motivate them to further their interest in the implementation of projects and to promote their results. The condition is that the results they have achieved must have been financed on the basis of support provided by the Ministry of Interior.
