About Doc. Ing. Tomáš Kazda, Ph.D.
Assoc. Prof. Ing. Tomáš Kazda, Ph.D. works as an associate professor at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Technology, Brno University of Technology (H-index 14, 686 Scopus citations). University coordinator for the area of energy storage. He finished his Ph.D. in 2015 in the field of electrodes for lithium-ion batteries. He took part in national and international projects including internships abroad (University Vienna – Austria, Padova – Italy, Barcelona – Spain, La Plata – Argentina). He has gained knowledge and experience in the fields of electrochemical measurements, synthesis of electrode materials for positive electrodes of Li-ion batteries, and post-lithium systems (Na-ion, Li-S batteries). Since 2017 he is a member of the Committee for Sustainable Energy and Transport of the Government Council of the Czech Republic. Since 2015 is a member of the organization committee and since 2023 chairman of the international conference Advanced Batteries, Accumulators and Fuel Cells. He is a member of the International Society of Electrochemistry and the Electrochemical Society. Since 2022 chairman of Czech Battery Cluster. In the year 2014, he received the Thermo Fisher Scientific and CSMS (Czechoslovak Microscopic Society) Grant for Young Scientists.

The lecture was focused on Li-ion batteries and post-lithium-ion batteries. The presentation focused on the history of Li-ion batteries, their development, applications (e-mobility, wearable electronics, energy storage) and current research, including post-lithium ion batteries. The presentation also included a presentation of research activities in the field of Li-ion and post-lithium ion batteries conducted at Brno University of Technology.
