FEEC and ABB expand cooperation through strategic partnership
Today, on 13 January 2025, the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication BUT (FEEC) Vladimír Aubrecht signed a strategic partnership agreement with ABB s. r. o. (ABB). The meeting was attended by Aleš Rychetský, Managing Director of the company, and Václav Kovář, Director of the High Voltage Switchgear Division of the Division of High Voltage Electrical Engineering.

Also on the agenda was a discussion on the current shortage of applicants for technical education. "I am pleased that ABB, our traditional partner in research and development, is ready to participate with us in activities leading to the promotion of technical education in primary and secondary schools."
The faculty recognizes the importance of working with the younger generation. Current statistics show a declining interest in studying mathematics and technology with age, especially among girls. In collaboration with partners, FEEC is trying to change this trend and show that technology is a ubiquitous part of our lives. (ABB is also one of the 20 partners that signed a memorandum of understanding on supporting STEM fields at the rector's office of the BUT last spring.)
The strategic partnership with FEEC represents the highest level of cooperation within the perfect partner programme, alongside the levels of partner and SME partner. In addition to cooperation in the field of science and research, the faculty offers its corporate partners, for example:
- Participation in the Student EEICT Competition Conference
- Presentation at the faculty job fair "perFEKT JobFair"
- Opportunity to participate in the student competitions "Merkur perFEKT Challenge" and "Microkontroléry letí"
- Opportunity to organize professional lectures and seminars for students
Cooperation with companies helps the faculty, among other things, to better motivate students and show them the practical application of the acquired knowledge. Many successful graduates return to the faculty as corporate partners, which can inspire current students to complete their studies.
