Energy conversion and storage - ECO&Stor

The ECO&Stor project primarily provides innovations in the field of providing and maintenance of sustainable and efficient energy sources and energy storage. Additionally, the project also fosters issues linked to intelligent energy distribution grid, as well as with related urbanistic solutions. Dealing the project within a consortia of 5 national research institutes, the ultimate goal of the project is to establish a broad and complex knowledge platform that will strengthen the position of the Czech Republic in the global competition in the energy decarbonization field.
Being funded by Programme Johannes Amos Comenius, call Excellent Research (No. CZ.02.01.01/00/22_008/0004617), the project focuses on a key challenge of contemporary society: environmentally acceptable energy security to support its future existence. This highly ambitious goal will be addressed in a comprehensive way that combines approaches from chemical physics, materials chemistry, chemical engineering, electrical engineering and urban planning to support breakthroughs in energy conversion and storage. The project includes 6 scientific research work packages covering the whole R&D chain in this field, i.e.:
- Batteries and supercapacitors
- Power-2-X
- Solar-2-X
- Molecular design in energy storage and conversion
- Engineering of storage and conversion systems
- Energy: buildings, cities and communities
The project merges 5 research institutions.
- University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague,
- Czech Technical University in Prague,
- J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences,
- Brno University of Technology, and
- Charles University,
that cooperate together in dealing the research fields and reaching the project objectives successfully.
